Mysterious island and the magnificent city of Agios Nikolaos.
DESCRIPTION:
This excursion is the combination between sailing the sea, barbeque and discovery of a desert island. First, we will visit the fishing village of Elounda. Today is a popular holiday resort, often visited by VIPs for the luxurious beach resorts that are situated in the area. Here we will get on board for a short trip to Spinalonga.
Spinalonga is a small island with Venetian fortress near Elounda in East Crete and also known as the Leper Island, as that is where lepers from Crete and the rest of Greece were quarantined until 1957. Today thousands of tourists visit Spinalonga each summer for a tour of its ruined buildings.
After this visit we take a break on the small bay of Kolokitha. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches on Crete. There we can swim and taste the delicious BBQ served on the boat.
At the end of excursion we take a walk around the magnificent city of Agios Nikolaos.
